Before becoming a chair, it already knew what music was.
As Yupanqui once said, “Before becoming a guitar, it was a tree, listening to the birds sing.”
Zanfona Chair is born from that same idea: wood retains the memory of the forest and the echo of the wind.
Inspired by the Galician zanfona and the folk traditions of the Rías Baixas, the piece pays tribute to those who keep traditions alive through music, material, and craft.
Its ebonized ash structure and hand-woven rattan seat reinterpret traditional craftsmanship through a contemporary lens. The curved backrest echoes the lines and resonance of the instrument, inviting not only to sit, but to listen to the wood itself.
